The details of the drive are posted! We begin in San Francisco and head north into Marin County to drive some of the fabled backroads of my youth. It is such a joy to experience top-down motoring in one of the most beautiful places on earth on some gorgeous two-lane roads that seem to be created for just this type of driving. Thank you, Kat, for your second year of organizing this drive. I'm really looking forward to it.
I am driving my 1973 Jensen-Healey. It is powered by a 1996cc DOHC Lotus 907 aluminum block engine. It is a classic two seat soft top and I only drive it on days when the top can be down. It has a four speed manual gearbox human powered brakes and steering.
The car was built from 1972-1976. Jensen stopped producing cars in 1976 and was liquidated. The car was built at Jensen's factory in West Bromwich, which is located just outside of Birmingham in the UK
During about the same time period, Jensen also made the Interceptor, which was a GT coupe or convertible. The Interceptor was larger and more powerful than the Healey, but was much more sedate to drive. Both are beautiful cars that still look great today.
it is a little known but classic British roadster built in the final years that cars of its style were produced in the UK and, with a handful of othe great British roadsters represents some of the last of its kind produced. It is a total joy to drive.
I just registered for the San Francisco Distinguished Gentleman's Drive, a fundraiser for prostate cancer and men's mental health.
This is my second year doing this drive and I am really looking forward to it. Last years drive covered many of the best back roads of beautiful Marin County where I grew up and came to love car culture.
I will be driving my 1973 Jensen-Healey. Those of you who have known me a long time know of my lifelong affection for this little known marque. The car is noisy and had stiff sports suspension. Assuming dry weather, it will be classic top-down motoring. Driving it is sheer joy. I will post more pictures of the car as we get closer to DGD 2024.
In support of our dear friend, Drew. You have our love and friendship through all your journeys. Happy birthday!

Thank you, JR & Marie!
A little money in the jar helps kickstart the donations. In Jewish numerology, the number 18 translates to the Hebrew word chai (as in l’chaim), which means Life. So $54 (18 * 3) has a special meaning: triple chai. This event makes me feel alive. I hope you will join me in supporting this fundraiser for men’s heatlh.
Great job supporting a great cause
