Today was drive day…

...And what a drive it was. The temperature was perfect. The drivers were perfect. Everything about today was perfect.

I achieved my goal and surpassed it, I matched all donations and nearly $8000 was donated by my friends and family too.

Less than a week left.

Hi Everyone, less than a week left for our uber cool Gentleman’s Drive, the weather so far is holding up.  So you still 6 days to go, and I truly hope you have some time and a few dollars to spare and donate for this important foundation.  Awareness is key and mental health or prostate cancer will not go away any time soon, so PLEASE donate what you can to keep awareness and research going.

A Gentleman's Convoy

Hi again, I am back to the grind and always pushing forwards, here is a lovely shot of how we drive from start to finish.  The awareness we bring to everyone along the way, people stopping to look and wave and take pictures is always fun, but more importantly is for them to be more aware.

The Young and the Wise

Each year the Gentleman’s Drive gets bigger and better, with 52 countries and countless cities of the world driving on the same day, rain or shine.  Hey, the awareness equally grows bigger and better too.

The Youth who join us and the Wise who lead us, we give thanks to all those who participate and especially those who donate.

The rules are simple, drive a cool classic car, dress as dapper as you can.  We are an on-road motoring event, uniting classic cars built 40 years and older.  This unique event was designed to encourage enthusiasts and vintage car owners around the world to dress dapper and drive for men's health.

All donations raised by all the Dapper Dressed Distinguished Gentlefolk support the charity partner, “Movember”.

My Co-Pilot to this year's Drive on September 29th

From the very beginning, Layla wanted to hang out and follow me in this Gentleman's Drive, she gets why this is so important and looks forward to it annually.  Layla wants to drive herself next year, so my tasks for her to now drive a classic car is ON.  I taught her how to drive manual, YES she drives stick shift, at 17 years of age, how many little ladies do that?

So this kid will do her own drive next year along with the rest of the gang in bringing awareness to this important cause.

I love this foundation and love to drive, but it would not be possible without these fine people from Jaguar Landrover Laval.  From left to right are Thomas, Villio, Sergio, Renato, Adrienne (she's an awesome organizer), Villio Sr., and Nino.

This important drive takes a lot of hours to prepare and all the various drivers join in and help raise dollars, awareness and make it special with their classic cars.

Even kids, young adults and children join in... yeah they do (that's in my next post).

A Gentleman always brings his Girl

Well in this case, my girl is Layla, my daughter of many years (nearly 18 now) always an event having her as my co-pilot.

More memories to come, but more importantly I ask my family and friends to donate to this IMPORTANT cause in raising funds for prostate cancer.  I rarely ask for anything, but here I kindly ask for you to donate anything, $5, $10, $20, $50, anything you can spare, and you get a tax receipt too.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive is a celebration of classic style. The 2024 event takes place on Sunday, September 29th. It is an on-road motoring fundraising event, uniting classic cars built 40 years and older, encouraging drivers and passengers around the world to dress dapper and drive for men’s health.

All funds raised are invested in vital research and programs for prostate cancer and men’s mental health by Movember.

Getting behind the wheel for The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive

On Sunday, September 29th 2024, I'll be taking part again for the 5th year in The Distinguished Gentleman's Drive. Together with thousands of classic car enthusiasts around the world, I will be raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health for the charity, Movember.

Before the dapper day, I'll be looking to raise as much as possible for the cause, to help men around the world live happier and healthier lives. With men's chances of developing prostate cancer later in life increasing, and one man dying every minute by suicide, we must do all we can to prevent more men from suffering.

This cause is very near and dear to me, as my brother was spared, we almost lost him to the big 'C', and only by the grace of God he is still with us today.  I have had a scare as well and now must watch my own prostate too.  Not everyone is as lucky as my brother was, so research and research and more research is needed to save as many lives as possible.

PLEASE give what you can, every dollar counts.  You don't have to open your wallet deeply, you just have to open it to help with a little something.
